Jasper was running through the forests, just enjoying the pleasant weather. He hadn't minded the rainy days of Forks, but the absence of rain was a nice change. And there was larger game here, that was definitely a plus. He didn't need to hunt, but if he came across a small deer or something, then he would definitely take advantage. And he knew Alice worried about him when he decided to push himself a little too far.
A smile was playing across his lips as the trees zoomed by in a flash of brown, and the thick underbrush moved underneath his feet at incredible speeds. Super-human speed was one of his favorite things about being a vampire. But his favorite thing was being able to spend forever with his Alice. The only he had to admit, was different, and he didn't really like, was the fact he had to put up with the wolves. He knew they were shape shifters, but it was easier to call them wolves.
Jazz knew they could be trusted, and they didn't do any harm, but they smelled bad. And he wished it could just be the Cullens again. But nothing had been the same since Bella had gotten pregnant with Renesme. But he was glad the little hybird had come along. And then recently, they had adopted Addison, who was like his own daughter. That still sounded weird to him. He wished he had more time to talk to her. Then his thoughts were interrupted but a different smell, a smell of a shape-shifter, but it didn't smell like the wolves. Could it be a new one? He stopped to locate the scent, and determine where it was.

Over the few months that Sara has had this gift, she has learned to enjoy this new perspective of her life. The red fox inside of her liked to be released for a run every now and then. Today was on of those days, and not just because her recent Bio mechanics class had been brain-straining. Professor Reid just doesn't get me, but a quick run through the forest will patch me right up. I will go back to him and explain myself later.
Her red fur flashed left and her red fur flung right, as Sara Soccio bolted through the forest. The jolt of this run felt much different to her, as the pads of Sara's paws thudded on the dry, crunchy ground. The fox took in a deep breathe; that was one thing she missed, the smell of rain. I miss the rain. China was so lush and filled with that scent. I wonder if I'm getting homesick?
Just then, something in the air caused the red fox to halt in its tracks. What's that awful smell? Sara took her paw and ran it over her nose. She winced a bit. It smells... clean. Its not like the regular earthy, dirt smell! Woah, what's happening? This must be an animal reaction. Sara's small, black claws darted out between her paws and dug into the ground. Then, her body started to shiver uncontrollably. The red fox instinct told her to hide something threatening was near and being a red fox wasn't as protective as a wolf or a giant bear! Sara's heart kept thumping loudly inside her chest. I have got to hide somewhere! But where? The sound she heard next caused her dart off in a mad rush toward the brush nearby.

Jasper's eyes moved to the right and left, catching flashes of red fur. Most of the wolves were darker colors. Could this possibly another shifter, only a different animal? This thing couldn't be part of Jacob's pack, he knew everyone, and he knew for sure they were all just wolves. The emotion was emenating off the other creature, fear, panic. He tried to ease them, to make this person feel comfortable. It was definitely a person in the animal body. Animals didn't have that clear of emotions; they weren't so specific. These were clear, and defined. True animals tended to blend their emotions, and they were easily confused. Which is one of the many reasons he stopped hunting humans.
Jazz followed the scent of the animal deeper into the forest, and he slowed down, and realized it had hid in the underbrush. "I don't want to hurt you. I just want to talk with you. Please come out." He whispered into the wind, knowing whoever it was would hear him. His voice was strong yet sincere. He really hoped he didn't have to bring in the other shifters, or his family. Jasper loved meeting new people, hearing their stories, introducing them to his family. Over the years, he had found meeting new and different people often led to connections, and those connections had helped them several times over the years.

"I don't want to hurt you. I just want to talk with you." The new threat wheedled to her. As Sara's small paws moved ever-so-slightly-forward, a wave of calmness and relief brushed over her. Great this enemy has freaky powers. This is just my luck; Mr. Reid won't be in by the time i get out of this. A fierce, for a red fox, snarl belted for somewhere deep in Sara's diaphragm and echoed toward this enigmatic foe. Go away! Sara said in her head as she swatted her red paw frantically toward it, while the majority of her body stayed hidden by the underbrush. "Please come out." He continued to coax to her. The same roll of composure was back, and this strange feeling made Sara ease, for once. By now both of her front paws had finally reached the part of the dirt in which there was no safety for them, if the adversary should attack. Something about this offender, though, felt like he was just being friendly and curious. Sara crouched down, and she let her yellow eye peer up at the stranger. He looked safe and human-like, but the green scrub had hidden his clean smell. Sara didn't mind it, but it was such a contrast from the forest's scent. All of a sudden, the air swirled around Sara, and she let out a small sneeze. Ah! Too clean! Sara looked up at the perpetrator, and instead of attacking, she bowed to him, hoping he would get the signal to wait here, I'll change back. Sara slowly moved backwards, in case the stranger was still an attacker. After her body was completely hidden by the bushes again, she took off in sprint toward a gathering of trees nearby. Oh god, I hope he didn't follow. How embarrassing would that be? If i change fast, maybe he won't attack? Sara was still debating on whether or not this new person was a friend or foe. One thing Sara had learned from such a short time is to always carry clothes. She would drop the bag off at a spot and go back to it later when she was ready to leave the forest. Sara changed into a Dartmouth green sweater with white, bold lettering, a pair of faded blue jeans, and her pair of white tennis shoes. As she moved, a twig cracked underneath the soles of her shoes, and she cringed. She looked up at the person standing there and said, "My name is Sara Soccio. I go to school here."

Jasper stepped back hastily as the fox growled at him. But he remained composed. He didn't want to crowd her. He could tell it was a girl, it was the eyes, and the delicate bone structure. Jazz didn't know if she had even met vampires before, or if she even knew anything about shifting. If she was part of a pack, or tribe, sometimes the elders didn't tell the young ones until they actually began shifting.
He offered a gentle smile as she peered at him with yellow eyes. As she bowed, he nodded his head, understanding her gesture. Jasper waited patiently, knowing she probably wouldn't be too long. And he could tell she wasn't going to run. He didn't feel that emotion from her, well, since he had kind of manipulated her emotions. He had to do what as necessary.
Sure enough, the girl came back into the clearing, now as a human, wearing a Darmouth sweater. So she went to college with him. "Nice to meet you Sara. I'm Jasper Cullen. I also attend college here." He said smoothly. She did look a little young, but who was he to judge. "Do you know any of the shifters here? Jacob Black, Seth Clearwater..." Jazz began to name off a few names and waited for her respones. He didn't think she was necessarily part of their pack, but maybe she hung out with them or something.
