Jasper changed into his most comfortable clothes. He did like the new house they had moved into, and everything seemed to be moved in. They had gotten good at it over the years. He ran a hand through his hair, and knew he had to stop hanging out with Edward so much. But he loved spending time with his brothers, and his family in general. He was so glad to be back in college though. He loved every minute of it. Darmouth seemed to be a pretty good school, but it didn't matter where he went, he would have learned most of it before. And he still had yet to pick his major. Maybe he would talk to Alice about it later. She was always helpful when it came to things like that.
He moved down the hallway and down the stairs into the living room. Jazz didn't bother to check the time, since they all took night classes. He sat down on the couch and flipped on the TV. Usually there was something good on, but not today. He just turned it off and picked up a book laying on the end table. More than likely it was one that Edward had left lying about. Jazz didn't really feel like reading though, which was rare. He wondered if anyone was in the house. He hadn't really been paying attention.
Then his thoughts moved to Addison. He wondered how she was getting along. Since moving and everything, he had been busy and hadn't had much of a chance to speak more than a few minutes with her. Maybe he would try to talk to her tonight. He kind of knew what she was going through, with her thirst and everything. And he had been the one to find her. Jasper kind of felt like he should try to be a father to her. And of course he knew how she felt whenever he was around her. He really wanted to help her feel more at ease, but he didn't want to confuse or scare her anymore than what she already was, and he hadn't really gotten a chance to explain to her what his ability was. He was just kind of sitting on the couch, lost in though when his ears picked up someone coming towards the living room, and he gently smelled the air. Bella! He had been wanting to talk to her as well. Jasper was glad she had been turned into a vampire, and he was still upset that he had misjudged her and thought she would spill the secret.

Hasn’t anyone ever told you? Life isn’t fair. Bella ran through the forest, making her way back home from her solo hunting trip. Edward or Alice would have gone with her if she asked, anyone probably would have gone with her if she asked, but Bella had needed the alone time. She wasn’t very old as far as vampires were concerned. Much younger than anyone in her family, aside from Addison and Renesmee. That almost made her feel like a child, like she was being watched carefully, though she knew that wasn’t exactly the case anymore. She wondered if anyone still thought she might kill someone. Her record was very clean. She figured she probably tied with Rosalie. Bella had drank human blood, but she had been a human when that had happened because Renesmee had needed the blood. But she hadn’t killed anyone, Rosalie had. So she figured it was about a toss up. Edward had assured her they didn’t start counting until after the vampire transformation, but she couldn’t help but think that it really had counted.
She could smell the scents of the vampires and shifters who lived with them in the Cullen Mansion as she made her way closer to the house, but most of the scents were hours old. Only one was really fresh. Jasper’s. That wasn’t really surprising. It was sunny outside, but she figured the others would probably be using this time to go hunting a few states away. Edward was probably at their house closer to campus, in Hanover and she would see him later. She had a Cullen in every one of her classes, just in case. This was her precaution, not Edward or Jasper’s or even Carlisle’s. They all had unbelievable faith in her, it seemed. Bella didn’t have that in herself as much. She didn’t think she would kill anyone, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t tempted.
Bella’s clothes were simple. She wore a pair of faded blue jeans and a deep blue t-shirt with her tennis shoes. She would change, if she absolutely had to, before classes that night. She slowed down to a fast vampire walk as she walked in through the front door into the familiar living space. She smiled as she noticed Jasper, immediately. “Hello, Jasper,” she said, as pleasantly as she could. She wondered what her mood felt like right now. Confused, she imagined, since there was so much on her mind. Though her eyes were now a bright gold, thankfully the bright crimson had faded in a year with their diet like the Cullens had promised her, she was still concerned about her ability to be around so many humans. She was thankful, though, that they would not start over as freshmen in high school. Bella had enough of high school for a few years. She knew that they would have to start over soon enough though. She hoped she could last through college without killing anyone because she knew Rosalie wouldn’t like it if they had to pick up and move so soon. “How are you? I’m surprised you aren’t with Alice.” She smiled again and sat down on one of the chairs around the table.

Jazz smiled back warmly. "Hey Bella." His voice was smooth and soft. He normally didn't speak very loud among other vampires. He noticed the bright golden colors of her eyes. "I take it you had a successful hunt?" He asked, grinning playfuly. Of course he felt her mood, which was slightly confused, apprehensive at times. He would have to ask her about this later. Jasper knew it was hard on her to be around so many humans, and he knew that she was scared about it. Of course he knew how she felt. After so many years, he still had trouble with his thirst every now and then.
"I'm good. How are you doing?" Jasper paused and chuckled. "Well, she was going hunting, and I had earlier, and I just kind of wanted to stay home. I'm sure we will do something later. But I'm surprised Edward or Renesmee aren't trailing close behind." He retorted mischeviously. Another misconception about him, is that he was stand-offish and had no humor. But around his family, he was always playing and joking. Jasper always tried to call Renesmee by her whole name, not shortening it to Nessie, because he knew Bella despised the name. She claimed it reminded her of the loch ness monster. He didn't blame her.
And he then noticed Bella was wearing normal clothes. And by normal, he meant something you wouldn't find on the cover of some fashion magazine. Alice had tried very hard to get Bella to be more "fashion forward." And she had complied rather easily, but he thought it was funny that she only dressed like that when she had to. Jazz has had to put up with it for ages, and he didn't really mind, because he knew it made Alice happy. He hated when she was upset, and would do anything to please her.
